Laboratory and Imaging
The laboratory and imaging units (e.g. diagnostic radiology, clinical neurophysiology, clinical physiology, and nuclear medicine) of the five University Hospital Districts provide high quality and cost-effective services with the help of skilled staff, appropriate equipment, and modern information technology in the field of health care diagnosis. All units are either independent business enterprises or public utilities locating centrally in university hospital districts and operating as subcontractors in clinical trials. Independent enterprises and public utilities produce a wide range of services for investigator-initiated and sponsored clinical trials. Detailed contracts are prepared and finalized by University Hospital District Clinical Trial Units or Institutes such as FinnMedi Oy or Clinical research Institute HUCH . Contracts with these service providers are generally made as sub-contracts and added to the main clinical trial agreement.
