Compensation for Harmful Effects to the Study Subjects
Apart from what is regulated for study subject insurances and the remuneration the study subject can also be compensated for other harmful effects suffered as a result of participation in a research that does not immediately benefit the research subject’s health. Please see Decree 82/2011.
As other harmful effects can be compensated, depending on the strain and inconvenience suffered as a result of the research and on how much the person’s everyday activities are limited, at most:
1. EUR 50 if the harm is slight;
2. EUR 120 if the harm is moderate;
3. EUR 170 if the harm is considerable.
The compensation for harmful effects can be doubled if the examinations on the research subject at the hospital or other research institution take more than three days altogether, and tripled if they take more than seven days altogether.
